A general view of hypothesis testing
نویسنده
چکیده
A general overview of hypothesis testing is given. The Bayesian and distribution-free framework to multiple hypothesis testing and to null hypothesis testing are discussed. Some practical algorithms are introduced, together with associated performance bounds.

LINEAR HYPOTHESIS TESTING USING DLR METRIC
Several practical problems of hypotheses testing can be under a general linear model analysis of variance which would be examined. In analysis of variance, when the response random variable Y , has linear relationship with several random variables X, another important model as analysis of covariance can be used. In this paper, assuming that Y is fuzzy and using DLR metric, a method for testing ...
متن کاملHypothesis testing with the general source
The asymptotically optimal hypothesis testing problem with the general sources as the null and alternative hypotheses is studied under exponential-type error constraints on the rst kind of error probability. Our fundamental philosophy in doing so is rst to convert all of the hypothesis testing problems completely to the pertinent computation problems in the large deviation-probability theory. I...
متن کاملHYPOTHESIS TESTING FOR AN EXCHANGEABLE NORMAL DISTRIBUTION
Consider an exchangeable normal vector with parameters ????2, and ?. On the basis of a vector observation some tests about these parameters are found and their properties are discussed. A simulation study for these tests and a few nonparametric tests are presented. Some advantages and disadvantages of these tests are discussed and a few applications are given.
متن کاملProgression of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome According to Electrodiagnostic Testing in Nonoperatively Treated Patients
Background: This study tested the null hypothesis that nonoperatively treated patients would not show disease progression of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) over time according to median nerve distal motor latency (DML) on two electrodiagnostic tests. Methods: This retrospective study analyzed sixty-two adult nonoperatively treated patients who were diagnosed with CTS confirmed by a minimum of...
متن کاملCord Blood Karyotyping: A Safe and Non-Invasive Method for Postnatal Testing of Assisted Reproductive Technology Children
Objective To verify the hypothesis that the incidence of chromosomal abnormalities increases in babies conceived by different assisted reproduction procedures. The availability of the umbilical cord blood encouraged us to study this hypothesis via this method. MaterialsAndMethods This is a descriptive study, umbilical cord blood samples of assisted reproductive technology (ART) children were an...
